Just like the fishing rods and lines, there are numerous kinds of fly fishing knots, albeit the really popular and used ones are just a few.

These are what we can the basic knots and are the frequently used by anglers and fly fishermen.

The basic fly fishing knots are the following:

Nail Knot

Albright

Surgeon’s Knot

Arbor

We will be discussing some of these in future posts of mine here, especially on how to properly do and use them.

When learning know to tie a knot yourself, as a serious angler, you must make sure that you practice constantly until you are able to master and easily create the knot.

The important qualities of a fly fishing knot is sturdiness and strength. Of course, you do not want a supposedly huge fish catch to become a failure.

Definitely, a great knot significantly contributes to the success of any fly fishing stint.  So if you have plans of making an afternoon anytime soon as a wonderful angling experience, better practice on your knots - knowing them to perfection spells the big difference.
