Spring White Bass Fishing: Such Sheer Enjoyment
June 9, 2008 | Leave a Comment
White bass fishing one of the more popular fishing game, especially among starting anglers. This is because the species is quite easy to catch, more so if you happen to chance upon the right water location, at the right time. Compared to the largemouth bass, the white bass are much smaller and usually weighs at the average of four pounds.
One of the more reliable white bass fishing tips is to do it in the spring season. During this time of the year, the species swim in schools over the tributaries of rivers and other waters meant for spawn runs. Other places where the fish gather are in creeks, small rivers and dam tail water places.

Other white bass fishing tips is to fish on clear water, and just stay on the same spot even for hours. Clear waters attract white bass and so it is easier for you to spot them. And even if you fish for a long time at the same place, you are surely to have continuous catch of white bass.
Fishing for bass is not only a fun, outdoor water activity; it also serves to train and provide experience to novice fly fishers and anglers as well. White bass are such easy catch – you can either have it for a nice meal, or you can “catch and release of you are only after the sheer enjoyment of the game.

Build Up Your Child’s Interest in Fly Fishing (Without Much of a Try)
June 7, 2008 | Leave a Comment
My friend wants his kid to be an avid fly fisher like him, the boy doesn’t – what is he to do? Basically, don’t force the child to do anything he doesn’t want to – even in your favorite sport of fly fishing. The more you force him, the more that he becomes resistant.
But you believe (who doesn’t) that fly fishing is such a nice, clean recreation to be engaged in, that you feel it’s a must that your child becomes hook on it. Besides, fishing is an art right?

What’s the least that you can do, without stirring up your kid’s sentiments against learning the game? One thing, whenever you come home from an afternoon fishing session in a nearby local river, make him see your catches, especially if you have some trophy fish to brag about. More often than not, this will tickle his interest, and you will notice his eyes glisten in awe at your marvelous catch.
The river isn’t there solely for fishing. There are lots of other activities that a child can do while on the site. If he is into other interesting stuff, try to ask him if he wants to come along and accompany him while you fish. He can do whatever activity he wants. More often than not, once on the site, he will give some time to observing how you fly fish. He might even be willing to assist you if you need help.
Does your buddy’s kid love to fish like his father? It might help if your friend’s boy is able to persuade your kid to try the game. Your child might be more receptive what people his age has to say. Remember, young kids are generally half-serious, half-play in most of what they do. Words about fly fishing coming from another child can open up your child and trigger his interest on the game.
